Suzette's encounter with Matthew 18-06-2008

Suzette meeting up with Matthew on the 18th of June in Edinburgh during The Edinburgh Film Festival

Well the day had finally arrived after a lot of planning!! Ofcourse I'm talking about the 18th of June this year.

Nadine (member of the brothersandsisters-tv.com forum), she had a spare ticket for the premiere of 'The Edge of Love', thanks again for that Nadine...still can't believe my luck.

We picked up our tickets at the boxoffice and asked what was going to happen and when. They told us that the redcarpet thingie would happen somewhere else. So they showed us the way...and we raced to the place to be. Tour big surprise no-one was there yet only the builders of the redcarpet....but little did we know what was going to happen. So we 'reserved' our seat for the redcarpet..and thought we were set for the day!! But we were not...after a few hours we were asked to leave the place...cause these spots were all for the mediatycoons and the photographers...there was absolutely no place for the fans (still gets me quite angry). We hadded waited for hours..and now we were told to leave. So a few other fans (mainly there for Keira and Sienna) sat somewhere else.

It felt like ages that the VIP's would arrive on the redcarpet..and for me and Nadine we were talking about Matthew...almost no-one knew about Matthew..only Keira and Sienna!! Yeah it's what we thought.

Finally there he was in his gorgeous creamy suit. Looked smashing...so did the girls...no doubt about that..although we were a bit wondering about Sienna's creation.

And the moment was there when I got to give the presents/messages (members sent me). He said thanks..I also said these were gifts and messages from other fans..but I don't think he could hear me as the people were screaming for Sienna and Keira.

Well at least I got to give him the bag with presents and he saw me and said thanks...I was happy with that. But still I wasn't completely happy cause I really wanted to have a word with him.

But me and Nadine thought that wasn't going to happen anymore..so we were thinking of maybe going to the after party aswell..but then we weren't able to go and see the movie..so we decided to stay and watch the movie and try the after party later (someone told us the place where it was going to be at).

So we went in and to our big surprise a photographer told us that Matthew was still in the building cause they were doing an intro to the movie in every room...OH MY GOD..that's what I thought. So the photographer told us to stay where we were and not to move untill it was the time to go and watch the movie.. most of the people were already in the rooms. But we waited...and I still can't believe it when Nadine hit me to say that Matthew came out of room 1 and we both immediately showed our tickets...and went in.

I grabbed Matthew's arm...lol...not really hard...but I had to get his attention somehow...!! He looked at me and I asked him if we could have a photo together..and he went in a few minutes as I have to do an intro in Room 2....so I said ok...me and Nadine waited and there he was...walking behind Sienna and Keira (they had bodyguards..lol) so I grabbed him again...and told him that I came all the way from Holland to see him..and he said are you Suzette?? I thought I was going to faint......neh...what am I like..had those days years and years ago....but I was just lost for words...so he gave me the biggest hug and said that he appreciated all my hard work that I had and still put into the fansite...and that I came over to see him.

Also three kisses were given..lol..taking advantage of being dutch...lol....!! And I told him how I loved his performance in House of America...and that it was my favourite movie...and he said..it's mine aswell...!! My last words were thanks for making my night and my birthday....and he said Happy Birthday and then he left leaving me in awe!!! During this time..we also posed for a photo which I will add shortly...and I've asked Nadine to send me her story aswell...so if you have had an encounter with the man..don't hesitate to sent it to me...I will add it to this page....I would love to read them!!
